Book an Appoinment

Our practice operates an appointment system to minimise delays and inconvenience to patients.

If you require an imaging procedure please call Bridge Road Imaging on (03) 9242-4888 or our free call 1800 4 SCANS and arrange an appointment time. Patients without an appointment who require urgent attention are seen as soon as possible after discussion between the referring doctor, radiologist or practice.

However, in some instances specialised preparation is required and then an advanced appointment may be necessary.

Detailed patient instructions will be given by the reception staff when you phone to book an appointment. Please bring your Radiology referral/letter and any previous X-Rays/images with you on the day of your examination.

When organising an appointment at Bridge Road Imaging be sure to ask:

  • How much will it cost?

Most procedures are Bulk Billed but there is an out of pocket cost ( this is not able to be claimed by Medicare) for interventional procedures. An interventional procedure involves the radiologist (A doctor to perform a procedure)

  • How can I pay for the examination?
  • How do I prepare for the examination?

Our medical reception staff are there to make your appointment process easy and are happy to answer all your questions.

Once your booking is made, simply turn up on the day and our specialist medical technicians will take you through the scheduled procedure. Once the procedure is complete done of our qualified Radiologist will interpret the images and issue a diagnostic report to your referring Doctor.

How long will it take?

Depending upon which examination you have, the procedure could take anything from 15mins to hours.

The reception staff at Bridge road Imaging will be able to confirm the length of time, as well as other important preparation information.

Most examinations allow you to leave immediately without restrictions. Check with our reception staff before you leave for any special instructions. Your results will either be sent to the referring Doctor or made available to you.

The full diagnostic imaging report, will be sent to your doctor soon after your examination. Films are not printed unless specifically requested as your doctor is able to view the images on line.
